So Shawn James is trying to make me famous.
He’s a writer. He just started a new column at the Trace Magazine Blog called Stylistics.
Stylistics is a dope new online cultural column in conjunction with Trace (updated every Tuesday) magazine authored by yours truly and photographer Rahan Cotterel aimed at featuring the most influential young artists of our generation.

Are there any similarities between writing and composing a good outfit?
With both, I put a lot of focus into how I feel. I’ll only write about something if I feel it. I only wear something if I feel it.With my blog, I make every attempt to ensure that it’s a true reflection of who I am. Everything I write and put out there for people is a reflection of me — just as with what I wear.
When I walk out of the house, from my shoes to my top, it’s a reflection of the young woman that I am. There’s nothing like wearing clothes and feeling like “this is so me.” It’s even better when your friends read your writing and go “that’s so you.” In short, the process is staying true to oneself.
You NEED to read the rest over at The Trace Blog here.
Thank you Shawn and Rahan.
